We’re still going strong  at the midway point of Play On! 24 Hours of Gaming for Charity!

Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy the kickoff party, and thank you especially to those who stayed through the night to keep all three streams running!  Some of us have been playing since 8PM, and we’ll keep it up through the day to show our commitment to Child’s Play, and to encourage you to support the cause with your donations.  If you appreciate what we’re doing here, you can donate directly by using the Chip In widget above, or by making a donation pledge here: http://bit.ly/mU1J3i

We hope that the entertainment we’ve created thus far encourages you to consider the joy you can bring to children in hospitals with your donation.

Some accomplishments so far:

- Over 50 cumulative hours of Starcraft 2 played

- The Minecraft challenges are in process and some have already been completed; check out the challenges page to see what’s been done and what’s left to do.

- Special thanks to Brian Balsan who personally completed Kirby’s Adventure, Shadow of the Colossus, DuckTales, and Bionic Commando.

You can still be a part of Play On!, we’re just a bit over halfway there and we’ve got plenty more games to play, so join us online or at the Center!  Some of the best times to visitr or to tune in are:

Friday 11AM-2PM 9th Floor Lobby - Starcraftathon! The NYU Collegiate Starleague team will be practicing on the steam and we’ll be projecting their matches (now with commentary!) at the Center for spectators.

Friday 6PM Lower Level Lobby  – Help us make the final push to reach our goals!

If you’re interested in playing Minecraft or Starcraft 2 at the event, we will have only a limited number of computers on site, but you’re very much encouraged to bring your computer; we’ll provide an area where you can set up.

The Minecraft server IP is: 128.122.101.217

If you’re playing Minecraft with us, check out the Minecraft challenges!  Start a new project, or check out what’s already been completed here: http://gamecenter.nyu.edu/events/the-open-library/play-on-minecraft-challenges

Our stream will continue live at this location: http://gamecenter.nyu.edu/2011/07/play-on  The more we spread the word about the streams the more support we can raise for a good cause, so be sure to tell your friends to join us online or in person. You can donate directly on our website at any time, or you make a donation pledge by following this link:http://bit.ly/q7lEj6

We hope to see for this fun kickoff to another great year at the Game Center!
