Game Design MFA Info Sessions for Fall 2012

Are you considering applying for the Game Center MFA? Join Department Chair Frank Lantz and Game Center faculty for a series of open Q&A sessions to answer all of your questions about our MFA program in Game Design.

Read all about the program at http://gamecenter.nyu.edu/academics/graduate and then bring your questions to the information session. For those of you that can’t visit live, we will be streaming the information session at http://www.twitch.tv/nyugamecenter. Each session will include a brief presentation on the program, followed by your questions.

Game Center MFA

The Game Center MFA is a 2-year Masters of Fine Arts degree that explores the design and development of games as a creative practice.

Established in 2008, the NYU Game Center is part of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. We celebrate games as a creative practice, and offer courses and public programs on the design, production, and study of games as an aesthetic and cultural form. It is part of our mission to establish New York City as a center of innovation in this important field.

Open Library

The Open Library serves as a location where students of all colleges within the university can gather to experience first hand the enormous range of artistic expression available in games. Its purpose is to provide access to digital games within a context of critical analysis and discussion. The Open Library currently catalogues nearly 1,000 titles between 14 systems.

The Open Library is also a community center for the Game Center, hosting events including the NYU PLAY! Club, student librarian curation events, tournaments, and more.

The Open Library is open Monday-Friday, 12pm-8pm in 721 Broadway, Lower Level.
