Introduction to 2D Animation for Games is a one-semester, four-credit class that builds fundamental skills around the design, animation, and implementation of art assets for games. Through a series of individual assignments, critiques, and exercises, students will explore core animation concepts and their implementation in an interactive context.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:
1) Learn fundamental methods of animation and apply them to the design of original gameplay concepts.
2) Develop an understanding of the animator’s role in a game development context, as well as the tools and processes an animator might use.
3) Encourage a careful, critical eye toward motion design in and out of a games context.
