Sharang Biswas

Sharang Biswas is an interactive artist, game designer, and writer. He has taught game design at Dartmouth, Fordham University, NYU Game Center, and Parsons. He has been Game Design Artist in Residence at the Museum of the Moving Image as well as a visiting teaching fellow at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan. Sharang has lectured about interactive art at institutions such as Columbia University, De Paul University, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and at festivals and conferences such as the Game Developers’ Conference (GDC), Games for Change, The International Festival of Independent Games (IndieCade), and the Boston Festival of Independent Games. Sharang has won IndieCade, IGDN, and ENNIE awards for his games IndieCade and has showcased interactive works at venues including the Museum of the Moving Image (Queens), Manhattan Borough President’s Office, the Toronto Reference Library, the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), and Pioneer Works (Brooklyn). He has published essays, fiction, and poetry in Eurogamer, First Person Scholar, Strange Horizons, Lightspeed, Nightmare, Fantasy, Baffling and WE’RE HERE: THE BEST QUEER SPECULATIVE FICTION. Sharang is the co-editor of HONEY & HOT WAX: AN ANTHOLOGY OF EROTIC ART GAMES (Pelgrane Press, 2020), and one of the game designers of AVATAR: LEGENDS, the official AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER tabletop roleplaying game.
