Ziyad Duron

Hey there, I'm Ziyad and I love making fun party games. I also like making puzzle games. Well, also visual novels. Now that I think about, I really enjoy making really tough action games too. Hm...

Why are you studying games?
I had a dream many years ago that I developed a game that had captivated the whole world. I'm still chasing that dream.
Describe your favorite project made by a classmate.
Thorns by @JRaven on Itch. Go play it. It's a beautifully simple but captivating experience.
Describe your most embarrassing playtesting moment.
I didn't take any notes while running a playtest. Actually this has happened multiple times... oops
What's your secret weapon?
My inability to take myself seriously.
Describe one memorable lecture, assignment, or exercise you've had at the Game Center.
The entirety of Game Design 2 with Winnie Song was incredible. Every exercise in that class taught me something, and I think about the takeaways from that class all the time.
How has the Game Center changed your thinking about games?
My definition of a "game" is fundamentally more broad than it was when I first entered the program.
What do you hope to accomplish after school?
My dream. See above.
What's the last great game you played and what's great about it?
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It's the last game that's had me hooked for so long. Every week I'm maining a new character which is awesome.
What's your favorite New York City spot?
The very southern part of Prospect Park near the Parade Ground. There's a wonderfully shady spot there where I love running to and resting for a bit.
