I played a huge amount of Counter-Strike during high school, mostly on a server where we ran custom maps with themes ranging from underwater research facilities to Star Wars to Wal-Mart. I eventually decided to try making some maps myself, and taught myself Valve’s Hammer Editor program. The maps I made include:
Complex, an exact remake of the level from Goldeneye007 for N64
Coral Capers, inspired by the water levels of Donkey Kong Country and the music of David Wise, meant to be played with low gravity
Water Temple, inspired by the de_aztec jungle aesthetic
Mars Command, a space station on the surface of Mars
Rock Maze, a small experimental deathmatch map where I was focusing on the atmosphere
- Complex from Goldeneye007 for N64. My first mapping project
- Another shot from the Complex
- The Terrorist spawn in my Mars Command map
- Power generator of Mars station, inspired by the warp cores of Star Trek ships
- Cafeteria of the Mars base, looking out over the Martian landscape
- Coral capers
- Another shot of the water temple level
- Under the bridge of the water temple
- rock maze deathmatch level
