Jake Weidner

Jake is a production, design, and operations specialist, working in the games industry since 2018. Before joining the Game Center, he led teams at studios such as Funomena, Pontoco, and Pixelberry, and worked in codevelopment prototyping and publishing partnerships for Meta, Microsoft, Roblox, and Amazon.

Jake received a BA at the University of California Santa Cruz, with a double major in Game Design and Digital Media Production. He has also worked previously in events, videography, marketing, and IT.

He is an advocate for students and new developers, and leads the Experimental Game Workshop team at GDC to help platform inspiring new work. Passionate about games labor and efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion, Jake evangelizes for the power of play and those who create it.

Outside of work, you might find him writing homebrew tabletop RPG modules, cooking lots of food from the farmer’s market, and biking all over the city.
