Jess Haskins is a game editor and narrative designer living in Brooklyn. She received an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design and her BA from Bard College. She teaches game design at the NYU Game Center and has taught at Parsons and Playcrafting NYC.
After working at various NYC indie studios on games including Hiveswap and Guns of Icarus Online, Jess founded Paperback Studio to offer consulting and creative services. Recent roles include editor on science-themed clicker Cell to Singularity and eco-friendly farm sim Coral Island, and co-writer of detective adventure Lamplight City and Western adventure Rosewater.
Jess served as chair of the IGDA NYC chapter from 2015–2020, and she remains an active community organizer and advocate. Her work centers on worldbuilding with intention, forging inclusive communities, and exploring interactive storytelling.
