Ben Sironko

I am a game designer and programmer. I am highly interested in the independent game scene and the crossover between games and the fine arts. I enjoy designing arcade games, experimental games, gallery games, and big games across media.

Describe your favorite project made by a classmate.
Blake Andrews made a game about identifying procedurally-generated witch faces called "WHICH WITCH" that is simultaneously mundane and unsettling.
Describe your most embarrassing playtesting moment.
When is playtesting ever not embarrassing?
What's your secret weapon?
My ability to keep secrets.
What do you hope to accomplish after school?
I hope to work as an independent game designer/developer/critic with a specific involvement in the New Arcade/game events/game spaces.
What's the last great game you played and what's great about it?
Tharsis. It's random and hard. Also two gallery games by Nathalie Pozzi + Eric Zimmerman: Sixteen Tons because its use of real money as game currency makes people really uncomfortable and Waiting Rooms because it hones in so perfectly on the subtly fascinating frustrations and mysteries of bureaucracy, it might be the realest game I have ever played.
What's your favorite New York City spot?
Alphabet City.
