We welcome you to join us for a social game design workshop and competition at the NYU Game Center sponsored by Prudential!

Saturday & Sunday, March 31st- April 1st 10am – 5pm

How do you create a great game concept and successfully pitch it to a client? In this two-day design workshop and competition, teams of participants will conceive, prototype, and then pitch ideas to a bona-fide corporate client: Prudential Retirement.  Led by veteran game designer Naomi Clark, the weekend event will focus on developing an original social game design and creating the materials needed to communicate it effectively to a real client. The workshop will combine lectures and exercises with hands-on creative collaboration and will culminate in a pitch session, with the winning game design receiving $2500 in cash prizes, to be divided equally among team members.

Admission is free, but a short application is required, and space is very limited, so sign up today at this link!

At the end of the weekend workshop, randomly assigned teams of participants will pitch their ideas to a group of judges that include Prudential executives. Prizes include the following (individual prizes based on expected team size of 5):

Winning team: $2500 in cash equivalent prizes!

2 runner-up teams: $1500 each in cash equivalent prizes!

Additionally, Prudential may be interested in hiring members of the winning teams to work on developing the concepts generated during the workshop.

If you are accepted into the workshop, we will send you a release form in advance of the workshop that you will need to sign before the workshop starts.  Please note that Prudential will retain ownership of all concepts that are generated in the workshop, although workshop participants may use the concepts they generate as further set forth in the release.

All participants must comply with the Official Rules for the workshop, which can be found here.

Interested in taking part in The Winning Pitch? You must complete this application by 3/24 in order to be considered. We will notify you of your admission status by 3/27. Participants must be prepared to commit to both full days of the workshop.
