Each year the NYU Game Center celebrates and honors New York City’s storied fighting game community by hosting day long tournaments and an interview between legendary player and designer, Seth Killian, and another legendary player from the world of fighting games.
This year players will be able enter tournaments for Guilty Gear: Xrd, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom, and Street Fighter V. The winner of our Street Fighter V tournament will receive a roundtrip flight to this Summer’s Evolution Tournament, the largest fighting game tournament in the world.
We are also honored to have Ricki Ortiz as our special guest! At 6PM Ms. Ortiz will be sitting down with Seth Killian to talk about her history with fighting games, her approach to playing them, and reflect on her ongoing, illustrious, and dominating career in Street Fighter.
Both the tournament and the interview will be streamed by another legendary player, Arturo Sanchez, on his Twitch channel, twitch.tv/nycfurby.
TOURNAMENT PRE-REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. THERE WILL BE A STAND-BY LINE AT THE VENUE FOR OPEN SPOTS. PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 11AM (FLOOR OPENS AT 10:30AM).

The scholarship is financial aid to study game design at NYU, awarded annually to an applicant who best demonstrates an active participation in the fighting game community, an interest in game design with a focus on innovating in the field of competitive games, and a legitimate financial need.
