Rewordable, the first non-digital game to participate in the NYU Game Center’s Incubator is coming to store shelves in 2017!
In 2016, thanks in part to the New York State Digital Gaming Hub grant, the NYU Game Center Incubator expanded to include support for developers outside the NYU community. That same year, a card game from local designers called Rewordable was selected as the first non-digital game to move through the program.
After a summer of refining game mechanics based on feedback from dozens of playtests at the Incubator, the Rewordable team launched a successful Kickstarter campaign. The team didn’t stop there — after more than doubling their goal and securing more than $43,000, the team recently announced a publishing deal with Clarkson Potter, an imprint of Penguin Random House. With this new partnership you can expect to see Rewordable available in Fall 2017.
