Leo Current

Leo is a Philadelphia native who specializes in game design and storytelling with cosplay on the side. Their games are by strange people for strange people, with an emphasis on player-character interactions and world development, as well as how players can discover the world and what it means to them through meaningful interactions.

Why are you studying games?
I love telling a story through art, voice, music and player interaction. For me, I cannot focus on something unless I'm interacting with something, and I want to give meaningful stories to those in my vein with a bit of added fun.
What's your secret weapon?
My knowledge of the funeral industry.
How has the Game Center changed your thinking about games?
I'm able to analyze games under the surface of their enjoyment. Rather, what makes them enjoyable, and how do you create something meaningful and long-lasting for a player?
What do you hope to accomplish after school?
I hope to continue making indie games in niche genres through unconventional pixel art.
What's the last great game you played and what's great about it?
Smile for Me is an indie horror adventure game with an objective of making 22 sorry souls happy. Each person is unique, non-conforming to societal happiness, and you learn to appreciate the differences that make a person who they are.
What's your favorite New York City spot?
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
