After adolescence, Jingyi used to be a gamer who enjoyed pure fun in free time. Yet her focus has been shifted gradually towards game design and development after playing some think-provoking games. So she made her determination to walk into the field of interactive media not only for quick entertainment but also for deeper reflections. Great things have small beginnings. She believes one day she will make a difference in this world with endless enthusiasm for arts and design.

Why are you studying games?
My background is software engineering, but I find out that the only software that I am happy to design, develop and debug is games. The moment when my players tell me that they like my games warms my heart and soul.
Describe your favorite project made by a classmate.

Describe your most embarrassing playtesting moment.
Haven't encountered any really embarrassing moment so far. The playtesters are so nice!
What's your secret weapon?
Gandalf's staff?
Describe one memorable lecture, assignment, or exercise you've had at the Game Center.
The most memorable one is the Indie Horror lecture from professor Matthew Weise's Horror Games class. I've learned that how Amnesia achieved horror by breaking the rules defined by its predecessors.
How has the Game Center changed your thinking about games?
That games can be personal, and games can reflect the values of the people who make them.
What do you hope to accomplish after school?
Make many good games!
What's the last great game you played and what's great about it?
Death Stranding. Kojima rocks!
What's your favorite New York City spot?
Prospect Park! Getting lost in there feels good ;)
