Why are you studying games?
Because games are on the forefront of telling great stories for everyone. And I love any way to tell good stories.
Describe your favorite project made by a classmate.
Gemini, the digital thesis project by Atlas Chen and Nick Zhang, is one of the most beautiful video games I've ever seen.
Describe your most embarrassing playtesting moment.
I nodded off during a board game playtest because the rules took to long to explain and I was really tired during midterms.
What's your secret weapon?
I'm a storyteller - you give me a medium, I can create you a great storytelling experience in it.
Describe one memorable lecture, assignment, or exercise you've had at the Game Center.
The experience of working with a team to develop our Game Studio II digital project, Octavia, was a memorable experience in how to grow as a designer, a project manager and a teammate.
How has the Game Center changed your thinking about games?
It's taught me that despite the differences in mediums, there are certain core fundamental theories and ideas that can be applied to making all games better experiences. That knowledge has only driven my idea that the different sides of the game world should share their knowledge and specialties so we can all learn to make better games.
What do you hope to accomplish after school?
I want to continue publishing tabletop RPGs, LARPs and fiction, as well as continue doing my academic research into roleplaying games.
What's the last great game you played and what's great about it?
I played in a larp called THE LAST HOUR, which was about spending the last hour of your life in prison before being executed as a freedom fighter in your conquered home country.
What's your favorite New York City spot?
I'm a native New Yorker - it's all great to me! But I'm a big fan of the Union Square area.
