On Friday 17th of November No Quarter returns once more to Brooklyn, New York. With just a month to go before the big day we are thrilled to announce the details of the 2023 creative cohort which includes… Arcade Artist – Ben Blatt, Game Designer – Blake Andrews, Artist and Game Designer Everest Pipkin and Architecture Studio – You+Pea.

Every year No Quarter commissions new work from leading artists working in games and related fields. These works premiere for one night only as part of the iconic No Quarter exhibition. (see our poster in action below)

The No Quarter 2023 exhibition will take place at 370 Jay Street in Brooklyn on Friday November 17th and will be open from 7pm to 11pm. It is free to attend, but RSVPs are essential.

No Quarter 2023 is curated by Marie Foulston with artwork and visual identity by Will Anderson.

Blake Andrews

Blake Andrews is a game designer, illustrator, animator, adjunct instructor, and “sound guy” living in Brooklyn, New York. Blake has published hundreds of short experimental web games since 2013 on websites like itch.io and Glorious Trainwrecks. Primarily, Blake has posted under the aliases snakesandrews, everythingstaken, Pumpkin Clowning, April Ghoul, and Yoke Mart.

Ben Blatt

Ben Blatt is a full-time writer and part-time arcade artist living in Brooklyn, NY. His work focuses on electro-mechanical machines which have an aesthetic inspired by American roadside attractions. Ben’s largest work was creating Tile World, the largest faux-delft arcade ever built, with his design partner Sam Richman


Everest Pipkin

Everest Pipkin is a game developer, writer, and artist who lives and works on a sheep farm in southern New Mexico. Their work both in the studio and in the garden follows themes of ecology, tool making, and collective care during collapse.

You+Pea

You+Pea is the architectural design studio of Sandra Youkhana and Luke Caspar Pearson. Their work explores the integration of videogame technologies into architectural design, leading conversations on how games can engage new participants in the design of spaces. They work with cultural and educational institutions, industry partners, developers, and city planners to bridge the gap between multiple disciplines and provoke new conversations about the future of architectural design through the use of games. Sandra and Luke are Associate Professors at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL in London, teaching the Cinematic and Videogame Architecture programme. Their research into games as architectural spaces can be seen in their recent publication, ‘Videogame Atlas: Mapping Interactive Worlds’.

Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 along with a physical form of ID is required for entry to No Quarter.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, seating will be available, transcriptions will be provided for audio only works. The environment includes low level lighting, music, projections and bright screens. There are quiet spaces with seating on the same floor as the exhibition that are easy to access.
