The NYU Game Center’s Fighting Game Tournament
Spring Fighter is the NYU Game Center’s fighting game tournament. The day-long celebration of fighting games features tournaments in a number of fighting games and a conversation between Seth Killian and a veteran player of the fighting game community. In the past we’ve hosted such greats as Daigo Umehara, Alex Valle, Ricki Ortiz, and LI Joe, and Justin Wong. Tournament games always include the latest edition of Street Fighter alongside a selection of the most popular fighting games of the year including Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, and Super Smash Bros. games.
The Game Center’s close relationship with the fighting game community led to the development of the Evo Scholarship, which provides funding for a student interested in designing the future of fighting games here at NYU. More information on the scholarship here.
